Caducity: the quality of being transitory or perishable.

It started with an exploration of the theme ‘Vergänglichkeit’ for our annual photo club competition. The images in the series capture the natural matter that falls into the lake which gradually decomposes and eventually disappears. The best english translation I could find that conveyed the same weighty sense, was ‘caducity’, a word not much in use nowadays. It seemed a fitting though, to represent the beauty and dignity of nature even when she is perishing.
